Course Description:
The impact of the job and stress is not just felt by First Responders, but has the potential to spill over on to the spouse and family. As an essential part of each other’s support system, it is essential for First Responders and family members to understand the impact and how to work through it as a couple or family. In this webinar, we will discuss the biological and emotional impact of the job, how emotional stress presents itself in First Responders, and tools to assist with the impact of emotional stress.

Learning Objectives:
Define “spillover” and how to identify it in the relationship or family.
Identify biological and psychological reasons for the spillover in first responders and family members.
Identify behavior that could be interpreted as emotional stress.
Assess for spillover and emotional stress.
Learn to apply strategies for resilience of spillover.
